North Valley Hospital Asks for Community Input on Area Health Concerns
North Valley Hospital is conducting a Community Needs Assessment to better understand the changing healthcare needs of the communities it serves. The survey is designed to gather input from residents of Northwest Montana regarding their concerns and perceptions on health and wellness. The data gathered from residents will be coupled with additional input from community health and civic leaders to help guide North Valley Hospital’s plan for responding to key healthcare needs.
At least once every three years, all non-profit hospitals are required to determine the health needs through direct input from residents who represent the varied interests of the communities that the hospital serves. North Valley Hospital is asking area residents to complete an on-line survey of healthcare needs for themselves and their family and to provide their opinions as to the most important healthcare concerns impacting the entire community.

The research is being conducted by Quorum Health Resources (QHR), a management consultancy. All responses go directly to QHR who will remove any identifying information and provide North Valley Hospital with statistical results and unidentified written comments. Respondents cannot be identified by responding to the survey. Any personal information will be included only in aggregate to establish demographic group trends. The results will be reviewed with a group of health and civic leaders who will discuss what they are seeing in the community. With this input, North Valley Hospital will then develop plans for addressing key areas in need that are within the hospital’s scope of capabilities. The research results and plans will be made available to the public later in 2011.

“It’s important for our local population to participate in this research,” states Jason Spring, North Valley Hospital CEO. “Their experiences and opinions regarding health and healthcare are crucial to understanding where the greatest unfulfilled needs lie. We take our mission of being the center of healing for the communities we serve very seriously. By conducting this periodic research, we are better able to address the healthcare needs as our society grows and changes.”
