HUD Grants North Valley Hospital Permission to Proceed
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has recently granted North Valley Hospital permission to complete additional pre-commitment work that includes plumbing underslab, electrical underslab, concrete foundations, floor slabs, and structural steel at a cost of $2,983,750.00. The work will begin Monday, August 22, 2005.
To this point, the contractor has mobilized and site work is underway. Rough grading is approximately 80% complete. The north and south parking lots are to subgraded and ready for stone base after utility lines are installed. Rough grading of the street approach to highway 40 is nearly complete. Completion of the highway 40 approach and grading of the approach to highway 93 are on hold pending final approval by the Montana Department of Transportation.
Construction of the retention pond, overflow structure and culvert is complete, with final cleanup and landscaping remaining. Construction of the storm sewer will begin shortly. The water lines are approximately 60% complete and the sanitary sewer is 50% complete.
The building pad has been undercut and backfilled with geotechnical grid material and compacted stone. Settlement has been monitored and the Geotechnical Engineer has indicated to the contractor that work may proceed on the building foundations. Settlement will continue to be monitored as work progresses on the structure for quality assurance. Structural layout is complete in building section A. Footings have been outlined and elevation control established. Reinforcing steel is due onsite August 9 and the concrete design mix is nearing approval.
The City of Whitefish has issued the necessary approvals from Public Works and the Building Department. Swank Enterprises is currently installing underground piping throughout the site. The gravel building pad is in place, and is ready for the building to be constructed upon it.
We are in the final stages of receiving approval of our HUD mortgage insurance application for the financing of this project in its entirety.
