Why Charitable Support Is Essential
North Valley Hospital (NVH) is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Because of this, charitable revenue is necessary to sustain its health care mission in the community. NVH provides many important services that are uncompensated, free education in the community, and charity care for those in need. And as reimbursement for health care services decreases, contributions to NVH are more important than ever. Gifts to North Valley Hospital Foundation are deductible for tax purposes to the full extent allowed by the law. Most donations to North Valley Hospital Foundation are made by individuals. Many supporters are people who are grateful for the care they or their family members received as patients. Other gifts come from the hospital auxiliary, physicians, and employees. NVH receives widespread support from members of the community, local businesses, and private foundations.
Gifts to North Valley Hospital Foundation
Gifts are used to advance the mission of NVH, to help purchase equipment, enhance facilities, expand services, fund staff education, and to reach out to meet the health care needs of our communities. An acknowledgement is prepared within 48 hours of gift receipt.

Gift Designations
Unrestricted
These gifts allow you flexibility in allocating resources to the areas where hospital administration has determined the need is greatest. Such gifts are vitally important as they enable the hospital to direct funds to meet critical needs. Restricted
Donors may specify a particular purpose or area for their donations. Please call the Foundation Office to identify a viable area or purpose (406-863-3630). Permanent Endowment
NVH Foundation is building an endowment to ensure quality health care for future generations. Because the money is invested, not spent, a gift to the Endowment is a gift that keeps on giving.

To remember - Your gift in memory of a loved one is a lasting memorial. At a time of loss and sadness, it is a way for you to show love and respect, and to offer hope for the future. Your memorial gift to the Foundation is a meaningful remembrance. You can invite others to give by including these words in the obituary notice: “In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Valley Hospital Foundation, 6575 Highway 93 South, Whitefish, MT 59937.”
To honor – You can make a tribute gift to recognize a special occasion or accomplishment such as a birthday, marriage, graduation, or recovery from illness. You can express your thoughtfulness at holiday time, a wedding anniversary, or the birth of a child. These gifts may bestow an honor on a caring, compassionate physician or nurse, and employers could use them to recognize employees on special occasions. Tribute Gift Acknowledgment
