| North Valley Hospital welcomes Karin Olsen as the new Executive Director of the Foundation. She replaces Carol Blake, who retired from the Foundation in July 2010.
Ms. Olsen brings more than 30 years of experience in fundraising, business operations and management with a private university and two large, research-intense state universities. Leading the North Valley Hospital Foundation, Olsen will be responsible for the development, implementation and administration of the Foundation and its fund raising efforts including annual and planned giving programs, capital campaigns, grants, special events and the hospital gift shop.
“I am very excited to be back in the Flathead Valley working for North Valley Hospital, a mission-driven institution that I can really resonate with, and a center of healing for the communities we serve,” said Olsen. “The groundwork has been laid, and I am anxious to meet members of our community and build a program of philanthropic support for the North Valley area.”
Armed with a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, Olsen brings a strong history of acquiring large donations for capital acquisitions and research funding. Her professional background includes Director of External Relations of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Hospitality, Assistant Dean at Gonzaga University School of Law, and Director of Development at Washington State University.
“We are excited about the expertise that Karin brings to North Valley Hospital Foundation in soliciting major financial gifts and grants,” said Jason Spring, CEO of North Valley Hospital. “Her proficiency in fostering this support will allow us to bring needed services and the latest technology to the hospital in order to meet the expanding healthcare needs in our community.”
