The North Valley Hospital laboratory offers small-hospital familiarity with the instrumentation of a large medical center. The Laboratory is College of American Pathologist (CAP) certified and CLIA certified. CAP certification is the highest-regarded laboratory recognition in the country.
The lab is a modern, state-of-the-art facility staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week for inpatient and Emergency Department patients. Outpatient hours are preferred between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Arrangements for outpatient services can be made at other times by calling the laboratory staff. Lab tests require a physicians order and registration at the North or South way finding desks at North Valley Hospital before they can be performed.
The laboratory staff consists of 13 clinical laboratory scientists and six phlebotomists/laboratory assistants. It also serves several local clinics, nursing homes, Naturopathic Physicians, Chiropractors and Veterinarians. A courier service equipped to appropriately handle and store samples is used for transporting specimens to reference laboratories approved by medical staff.
