| Maura Fields, RN, Chief Clinical Officer for North Valley Hospital, has been selected to join the Advisory Board for the Montana Rural Healthcare Performance Improvement Network (PIN). The mission of PIN is to assist Critical Access Hospitals in achieving compliance with the Medicare Quality Assurance Conditions of Participation. The Network’s focus is to support performance improvement activities for Montana rural hospitals with 25 beds or less. North Valley Hospital is one of 48 Critical Access Hospitals in Montana.
Fields brings more than 30 years of experience in nursing, management and clinical operations at Critical Access Hospitals. She began her career at North Valley Hospital 27 years ago as Director of Nursing. Fields became the Chief Clinical Officer in 1999 and now oversees a staff of over 220 people in 11 departments. She was instrumental in the adoption of the Planetree philosophy of healthcare for North Valley Hospital in 2002, and in addition, was a key player in the design and transition to the new hospital facility in 2007.
“I am honored to be part of the Performance Improvement Network which focuses on promoting quality in patient care and safety,” said Fields. “With a long history of hands-on patient care, nursing management and implementation of quality programs, I’m excited to share my experience with other hospitals in the state.”
