| Michelle Thompson, MD joins North Country Medical Clinic on September 6, 2011. Dr. Thompson comes to North Country Medical Clinic with special training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Dr. Thompson received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2007 and completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the same location in 2011. She is certified in Basic, Advanced Cardiac and Pediatric Life Support. She also is certified as a neonatal resuscitation provider.
“I am excited to join the staff at North Country Medical Clinic,” Dr. Thompson said. “It’s a comprehensive family practice that exemplifies a remarkable patient-centered care philosophy. I look forward to meeting the community members and assisting them with their healthcare needs.”
While in medical school Dr. Thompson held various leadership positions such as Pediatric Residency Leadership Committee, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Curriculum Committee and Bioterrorism Student Representative. She also completed an externship in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Prior to medical school, she held a position as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Serving her community is important to Dr. Thompson. While in medical school, she volunteered as the pediatric emergency medicine clinical research assistant for Kosair Children’s Hospital, was the student director for LIFE Clinic, and was EMT for Erlanger Fire Department.

Dr. Thompson relocated from Kentucky to the Eureka area with her husband, Greg, and 4-year-old daughter, Zoe. She enjoys hiking, camping and spending leisure time with her family.
