North Valley Hospital Receives Award of Merit for Design

The esteemed architectural Award of Merit by the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Institute of Architects was awarded to Johnson Johnson Crabtree Architects P.C. for the design of North Valley Hospital. A total of 60 entries were submitted for the 2008 Design Awards for projects created by middle Tennessee architectural firms.

“Remarkably warm and inviting for a hospital,” the jury commented about North Valley Hospital. “They made a lot of effort to make the patient and family experience more enjoyable and pleasant.

An independent jury from the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects selected the winning entries and North Valley Hospital was the only healthcare award recipient this year. It was a diverse group of project types ranging from single-family residences up to large hospitals and corporate headquarters. The jury selected a total of 10 projects to receive awards of Honor, Merit or Citation, which includes three in the un-built category and seven in the built category.

The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Institute of Architects holds a yearly award ceremony for projects done by local architecture firms in the past year. North Valley Hospital is delighted to be the recipient of another design award.

“The Award of Merit is just another indicator that we achieved what we set out to accomplish,” said Hospital Board of Directors Chairman Mark Johnson.

Last year, North Valley Hospital received the Planetree Architectural and Interior Design award. It was goal of North Valley Hospital’s Board of Directors, administration and staff to create a healing, comfortable and attractive environment for patients, family and guests. “It is nice to be recognized for the effort that our community put into making our hospital an inviting and comforting environment,” Johnson said.
