| SCU - Special Care Unit |

| The Special Care Unit is made up of four large private rooms in the northeast corner of the hospital, each with a private bathroom and shower. Registered nurses with a higher level of training provide care for the patients with a variety of illnesses, including chest pain, heart failure, diabetes emergencies and pneumonia, to mention a few. The SCU provides heart and vital sign monitoring using a new state of the art system and offers short term ventilator management as well. patients who require heart monitoring can now be viewed hospital-wide to allow for increased levels of activity as their condition improves. Located at the north end of the inpatient hallway the SCU provides a quiet, healing environment for higher acuity patients. | |
