Same Day Surgery
North Valley Hospital Same Day Surgery Department (SDS) creates shorter patient stays and more efficient services, as well as improved patient education and improved continuity of care to our patients. When a patient has scheduled a same day surgery at NVH, they begin with a pre-admission visit. The SDS surgical staff conducts an interview, performs a physical assessment, takes time for patient education and schedules any lab work needed. On the day of surgery, the patient goes directly to the Same Day Surgery Department for their admission. After surgery, the patient may go to recovery or back to the SDS where they are discharged.
