At North Valley Hospital, our Speech/Language Pathologists evaluate and treat children and adults with a variety of impairments. Individuals seen by our therapists often have suffered from neurological trauma (traumatic brain injury, stroke), degenerative disease (Parkinson’s, Dementia, and ALS), or congenital and developmental delays.
North Valley Hospital’s Speech/Language Pathologists are contracted staff through Whitefish Physical Therapy. They provide an individualized treatment program for each patient that focuses on their return to independent living, working and social life. Disorders seen by our Speech/Language Pathologists include:
- Feeding/swallowing (dysphagia) including use of VitalStim electrical stimulation
- Speech and language (aphasia and apraxia)
- Voice
- Cognition, including: Memory, attention, problem-solving, thought organization, reasoning/judgment, new learning and social skills
Our therapists also work closely with Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy to provide each patient with a full recovery, both mentally and physically. | |
